Charleston Copy-X was founded in 1964 by Jim Palmer. It started in a small 600 square feet location next to Morton Park in Charleston, IL. Jim successfully operated the business for 20 years before selling the business to Jack and Kevin Jenkins. They operated the business for 14 years and moved it to its current location at the corner of Third Street and Lincoln Avenue. Debra and Chris Schoonover purchased the business in July of 1999, and continue to operate it to this day. The Schoonover’s have tried to keep up with the times and technology changes and have added wide format printing, lamination, screen printing, embroidery, and corporate gifts/promotional items to the product line up.
Charelston Copy X provides you with high quality embroidered and screen printed products customized with your design. While custom printed t-shirts are the bulk of our apparel business, they are just a beginning to what we off.Our product line also consists of polos, hoodies, hats, jackets, can koopies, magnets, frisbees, jerseys, sweats, and many more items–if you can think it, we can ink it.
We strive to make the ordering process as seamless as possible. You can design and buy on our online designer, or you can come into the store to have us help you with your design and give you a quote. We offer many different options for quality/price and have Charleston’s fastest order completion time, averaging just 5 days.
We only use durable, quality, well-sewn shirts. We offer budget concienceGildan or Fruit of the Loom,to slightly more expensive domestic products so as American Apparel and Bayside USA Union made. No matter which garment you choose, we make sure that it’s a quality product that willhold up to dozens of washings. While we prefer to use US made goods, we understand that sometimes our clients’ budgets demand less expensive imported products. No matter you budget, we will only sell quality printed products that will last a long time and give your business or organization a professional impression.
Our normal turnaround is 7 days. Since we are a large volume printer, we receive orders everyday. While many suppliers have large minimum orders, that mean smaller shops have to pool orders for days just to place the order, we take several orders a day, and are able to receive wholesale orders and pricing everyday. We are proud to have strong relationships with area Midwest suppliers. Thus we order fast and get your garments fast.
We don’t conceive that you are morally compelled to shop locally – particularly if it costs you money. So rather than freeload off of the “buy local” movement, we have, through efficiency, trimmed our costs and supply chain to the point where we are cheaper than the other companies (who generally don’t advertise their set-up and shipping costs) while providing quick turnaround, and will happily price match if you make us prove wrong. We challenge you to find a better price!
